Geotek ScoutXcan
The Geotek ScoutXcan cab X-ray machine is used for 2D X-raying of rock and sedimentary cores for studying their internal structure. The cores can be scanned by sliding or rotating, making it possible to use the laminographic method and obtain pseudo-3D data without typical tomographic scanning. Laminography is a quasi-3D imaging technique that allows the reconstruction of individual core sections.
This makes the ScoutXcan system an ideal solution on a small budget and for applications that do not require full 3D CT scanning.
Dimensions of scanned cores:
diameter: 2.5 cm to 15 cm, length: up to 1.5 m
Tube voltage range: 45 kV to 130 kV
Pixel/voxel resolution range: 30 µm to 350 µm
